In the final, DY Patil Group A defeated their sibling team, DY Patil Group B, to lift the trophy. This edition also featured names like Robin Uthappa, Iqbal Abdulla, Rinku Singh, and Sarfaraz Khan. Arjun Tendulkar, son of Sachin Tendulkar, bowled for DY Patil Group B during the tournament and picked up a couple of wickets in the group stages.
2020 (16th Edition): Indian Oil
Indian Oil created history in the 16th edition by winning the DY Patil T20 Cup for the first time. Their captain, Aditya Tare, led from the front in the final, scoring an unbeaten 75 off 42 balls. Opener Suved Parkar chipped in with 63 off 40 balls as Indian Oil posted 194 for 5 in 20 overs.

Reliance 1, the runners-up, fell short by 11 runs despite a fighting 69 off 41 balls from Shikhar Dhawan. Siddhesh Lad picked up three wickets for Indian Oil to seal the win. 2021 And 2022: Tournament Not Held
The DY Patil T20 Cup did not take place in 2021 and 2022. The COVID-19 pandemic forced the organizers to cancel both editions.
This two-year gap meant the tournament skipped from the 16th edition in 2020 straight to the 17th edition in 2023. During these years, the DY Patil Stadium hosted other events like the IPL and the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in 2022.
2023 (17th Edition): Reliance 1
The 17th edition, held from 14 to 25 February 2023, ended with one of the most dramatic finals in the tournament’s history. Reliance 1 beat DY Patil Group B by just one run in a nail-biting finish. Batting first, Reliance 1 managed only 153 before getting bowled out in 19.5 overs, with all-rounder Hrithik Shokeen top-scoring with a fifty.

DY Patil Group B looked set to win as they needed only six runs off the final over. Akash Madhwal bowled that last over for Reliance 1. After a single and a boundary off the first two balls, Madhwal delivered two dot balls and then took two wickets to seal a sensational victory. Reliance 1’s squad also featured Piyush Chawla, Kumar Kartikeya, Arshad Khan, and Vishnu Vinod.
2024 (18th Edition): DY Patil Red

2026 (20th Edition): Mumbai Customs
TThe 20th edition of the tournament was played from 23 February to 6 March 2026. Mumbai Customs won the title, becoming champions for the first time in this decade and ending the recent dominance of the DY Patil teams.

In the final, Mumbai Customs faced Canara Bank, who had earlier shocked the defending champions DY Patil Red by 3 runs in the semi-final. Batting first in the final, Canara Bank scored 141/9 in 20 overs. Sandeep Warrier (3/20) and Shivaji Yadav (3/23) were the top bowlers for Mumbai Customs.
